The event is organised for the Proloco and the village of Monteleone Sabino in collaboration with Slow Food Rieti and with the patronage of the Region Lazio and the Province of Rieti.

On 12nd and 13rd of June the old medieval village of Monteleone (province of Rieti) will become the centre of the Alta Sabina's traditional cuisine.
Two long days are dedicated to the rediscovery of ancient recipes and social gathering. Protagonist is the local tradition that doesn't cede to the standardisation of taste nor the spreading of fast food but invites to a special journey dedicated to your most refined taste buds.

On Saturday 12nd of June, beginning at 17.00, the inhabitants of the area challenge themselves in a live fettuccine competition. A jury composed of three cooks from central Italy's best cooking schools decides who's hand-rolled pasta is the best.

On Sunday 13rd of June, beginning at 10.30, the roles are being reversed: this time the cooks themselves enter into competition in the creation of the most original and delicious dish prepared from rigorously local products.

Musicians, storyteller and performers animate the walk through the old historic centre, diving the visitors into an atmosphere of art and history. In the cellar caves typical products are being exposed by the producers and can be tasted. Slow Food from Rieti holds taste workshops using products of excellence from all over the country.

In the historical center, the old wine cellars are opened, transformed for the occasion in craft shops and local products shops.

The objective of the festival is exactly that of contributing to the development of this territory without compromising its authenticity but rather highlighting its values and particularities, both human and natural. This event, has the aim to support the local economy of an area with a continuously shrinking population.
